Terrace Kiyomizu Kyoto

The location was the best. We took the city bus, walked around the corner and there it was our hotel. I love that there were so many temples, shops, restaurants and bus station on walking distance. The village is lovely to walk around in the morning and evening.

Staff was nice and the hotel clearly tries to offer lots of little amenities as a nice touch. The location was great for all the touristy stuff, and close access to major bus routes.

The beds are incredibly hard, but they did put a mattress topper on the next day which was perfect. For the price and rating of the place I would have just expected it to have been a little nicer? It’s not bad, it’s just a little dated and not quite as polished as the pictures show.

Location to the Otani Hombro and Kiyomizu-Deru temples is very convenient. The surrounding neighborhood is quiet.

The bed in my room was the most uncomfortable! It’s dated with no plushness whatsoever; it was like sleeping directly on top of the wooden slatted support that the “mattress” was laying on. Most restaurants close early.

Very nice and welcoming staff, room are great, location is perfect. A sunset from the roof is priceless!

It was very close to many of the temples and shrines I wanted to visit. The terrace was almost always vacant so we spent time there in the afternoon to relax.

The area is incredibly busy with tourists! So crowded it was hard to walk on the sidewalks.

it is near kiyomizu tourist spots. has free coffee, water, toiletries, provided tumblers as freebies. staff clean the room daily and change the bathrobes & towels. friendly staff.

Honestly, there was nothing i could fault. apart from when i got there to check-in, they had my booking for 2 days after, but they sorted it out very speedily.

Very clean, very friendly staff, nice selection of amenities that you can take from the lobby. The rooftop terrace is beautiful with an awesome view of the area. The room was spacious and had everything we needed.

There was a weird smell in the room for the duration of the stay, so I’d recommend bringing a nice air freshener to have by the fan. It was convenient to have coin laundry, but the dryers didn’t dry well at all, so I’d recommend going elsewhere to do laundry.

Rooms were very clean and spacious. It has a balcony that overlooks the street. It’s a short walk to Kiyomizu Dera. Many tasty foods.

Great location, clean, almost always quiet and watched some great sunsets on the roof.

The location was spectacular for sightseeing, so close to the Kiyomizu Dera. Cute little hotel, nice rooftop terrace. Staff was helpful in lending a charger.

The pillows were weird, but otherwise, still got a very good night's sleep.

The staff at this hotel were exceptional - very friendly and went to extra effort to please us. On the day we left it was raining and the woman host took an umbrella and walked down the street in order to successfully hail a taxi for us. The location was an easy walk to the temples / restaurants and bus stop to Kyoto station. Lovely rooftop deck with great views. Would absolutely stay here again!

great helpful staff, clean room, good amenities, good location

We had a great stay! The room was small, but clean, and tidied by staff each day. Extra pillows were available from downstairs, as well as various other amenities like toothbrushes and other toiletries. Staff were very attentive and did everything they could do make us comfortable. The highlight? They have a coffee machine!

Slightly further out for restaurants but still in walking distance.

The location to the bus and trains was excellent. The staff were so kind and helpful. The weather forecast was a wonderful detail. Also, the location and nearness to the whole area we wanted to explore was perfect. An extra bonus was having water in the lobby, which we greatly appreciated.

There is nothing that we can think on improving. All was excellent.

It's good size for 2 pax. Near to the temple. We enjoyed our stay.

The toilet is Abit inconvenience for old folks. They need to climb in the tub. Otherwise .. it's value for money.

Great location close to all the main attractions of Kyoto and handy for the bus to the station. Staff were very kind and friendly.

Walls were very thin so you can hear the people in the room next to you. The hotel is quite basic for the price you pay (but all accommodation in Kyoto is more expensive). The hotel is located on a very busy road which is noisy and grid locked during the day with tour buses.
